Welcome to the Team
After you have been invited to join the EFM team, your training will consist of a minimum of
A three hour orientation and training
Completion of three hours observing service provided to families
Completion of three hours serving family member(s) with supervision
At the end of this training, you will meet with the Ministry Leader or Outreach Coordinator about your progress and, with mutual agreement, be given Active Volunteer Status. Your name will then be added to the Active Volunteer Roster of individuals available to minister directly to families.
Ongoing Volunteer
As a trained volunteer with Elijah Family Ministry, you will have flexibility as to how often you commit to ministering to a family or individual. In order to maintain your Active Volunteer status, we ask that you commit to quarterly ministry meetings where additional training and ministry updates will take place. If you miss more than two consecutive quarterly meetings, you will be reclassified as an Inactive Volunteer, until such time as you can obtain any needed training updates and information.
Once you agree to assist with a family, you will be asked to commit to three hours of volunteer time each week for a minimum of three months. At the end of that time, the family’s progress and needs will be accessed. If it is agreed that the family would benefit from continued service, team members would be asked if they can commit to another period of additional time working with the same family.
The three hour commitment per week would consist of 1-2 hours of direct contact helping family members and a brief weekly team meeting with other volunteers who are working with other members of the same family.
*Please be advised that if you leave or refresh this page, your application with reset and you will have to re-enter your information.
